Loss of a dear faculty member

August 28, 2014

dr. dianeA couple weeks ago, clinical associate professor Dr. Diane Calleson died after a valiant battle with a rare form of ovarian cancer. Diane was a remarkable woman, as her husband Jerry Calleson described so poignantly in the obituary he wrote. Jerry is a member of our Information and Instruction Services (IIS) team. I got to know Diane just as she began her journey with cancer, and I became enormously fond of her. I came to appreciate how deeply committed she was to her Public Health Leadership Program and how much passion and caring she brought to mentoring. We miss her, and our hearts ache for Jerry.
